5500 reporting for fixed assets is the same on the 5500 as it is on the financial statements per ERISA regulation.

The 5500 requires all plan assets to be reported at fair value, so a reconciliation must be presented in the footnotes to the financials to the 5500.

An adjustment between fair value and depreciated cost must be shown on the face of the financial statements.

The plan is not permitted to recognize depreciation as it is a non-cash expense.
