This year sees the 100th anniversary of the founding of CIMA. This article focuses on the organisation’s events and milestones over this period. It describes the original memorandum of association and the industrialists who formed the framework and direction in the early years. It explains the contents of the early examination syllabus, the role played by members in wartime and its growth into an international accounting body. Few of the early pioneers could have foreseen the new digital skills required for the modern day MA.
