Speaker details:

Cieran Downes:
Cieran started his career at Barclays, where he qualified as an adviser, and, more importantly, learnt to deliver for clients. With a genuine care for client value and building relationships, Cieran founded Regent Dow Wealth to help clients over the long-term.

Cieran understands that very few people have the time, expertise or inclination to manage their financial affairs satisfactorily. He therefore enjoys the process of deep, meaningful and complex financial planning for clients and their families. Cieran is in particular, a huge advocate of pension planning and using Cieran has achieved Chartered Status, the gold standard of financial adviser certifications.

Elian Jones
Elian has his own practice in partnership with St James’s Place Wealth Management. His expertise covers wealth management, including retirement, investment and estate planning. His clients work with him over the long term, as a sole source of trusted advice on financial matters

Matthew Duncan
Matthew is a Consultant in the Private Client Team at Druces. He has an extensive private client practice and has specialist expertise in a number of areas. His particular expertise includes dealing with complex tax planning, trust and estate issues for both UK and international high net worth individuals and trustees. Matthew deals with complex high level estate and succession planning with particular emphasis on entrepreneurial clients and family businesses. Furthermore he has developed a strong contentious probate, trust and disputed wills practice.

Matthew offers pragmatic, practical and personable advice. He is consistently praised by clients and intermediaries for his care and attention and excellent advice. Matthew is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP). In Legal 500, 2019 Matthew is recognised for his work on personal tax, trusts and probate, regarded as someone who ‘knows his subject extremely well’. He is also recognised for his contribution to the contentious trusts and probate team.

The 2017 edition described him as being “very engaging with clients and his customer service and follow up with clients is very good’; he deals with high level estate and succession planning with a particular emphasis on entrepreneurial clients, high profile clients and complex family businesses.

Justin Elmes
Justin has worked in financial services since 2003, having previously exited a business he started in 2000, and initially worked directly with private clients before moving to work with financial advisers. He has worked within the tax efficient market since 2011, across a number of different investment managers and therefore is well placed to provide some further detail in relation to Business Relief.

Nick Priest
Nick joined Downing in 2015. Prior to that, he worked for Canada Life with a focus on offshore and IHT products in the London area. he previously worked in third way investments and as an adviser at Barclays.
